On the daily, Wendy is my partner in outdoor crime & goodness. We are remarkably capable of finding reasons to drop all the things and escape to the water, to the mountain, to the trail. But even when Wendy isn’t running away she is dreaming of the next trip, planning and building her very specific bucket list. That’s her superpower, to be the best of both worlds, spontaneous and planned out. Once we have nailed down a trail/destination, Wendy will dig into her maps, approach videos, books & blogs … maybe it’s all the research that gives her the confidence to so cheerfully waltz back and forth across the line between wayward and sensible…  but really it’s just how her soul works.

My fellow dreamer, Wendy and I have shared many tent conversations about “what’s next.” Whether that’s planning a new adventure, adding items to our bucket lists or ways we and our respective organizations can help move the needle on community issues, we like to dream about the future and what can be accomplished. As an eternal optimist, Wendy often counters my more cynical tendencies and always provides the “we got this” attitude required when facing difficulties on the trail and in life.
